The Chemists’ Club will hold its 120th annual Egg Nog Party event on Dec.14th at the New York Academy of Sciences. This traditional festivity, believed to be the longest such continuing event, celebrates the development of the Club’s still secret recipe for egg nog.
We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2017 Winthrop-Sears Medal, Heinz Haller, executive vice president of the Dow Chemical Company; President of Dow Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. Mr. Haller is being recognized for his successful commitment to building an entrepreneurial leadership platform at multiple large specialty chemical companies.
This event attracts guests from across the chemical science-based industries as well as other who have an interest in the industry, such as financial analysts and consultants. This diversity makes for a very sociable evening.
The dinner is unique, as corporate sponsors enable the Club to invite college students, both undergraduate and graduate, to attend free of charge. The informal networking gives the students an invaluable opportunity to learn about the industry, and some recruiting has been known to occur.
